Australian transport industry associations announce new leadership appointments

Transport Australia has appointed three new senior executives to its Board to strengthen leadership across the national transport system. The new directors include Roberto Gallardo, president and executive director of CIMIC Group; Peter Regan, CEO of ACCIONA Australia and New Zealand Infrastructure; and Nicole Stoddart, group executive for Delivery and Risk at Transurban Group.

These appointments aim to incorporate diverse expertise in infrastructure construction, project delivery, transport operations, finance, and public policy. Transport Australia chair Aneetha de Silva stated the goal is for the Board to reflect the various organizations involved in the planning, funding, delivery, and operation of Australia’s transport system.

Separately, the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has elected Murray Butterworth and Cameron Trewin to its Executive Council. Butterworth, General Manager Recycling at Alex Fraser, and Trewin, President Intermodal at Linfox, will provide expertise in sustainability, resource recovery, and multimodal freight operations to support the association’s advocacy for Victoria’s transport and logistics sector.
