Australian truck sales decline in August

Australian truck sales experienced a decline in August, with 2,989 units recorded compared to 3,356 in July. According to Truck Industry Council T-Mark data, the year-to-date total has reached 25,871 units.

In the total truck market, Isuzu led with 759 sales, followed by Fuso with 245 and Mercedes-Benz Vans with 239. In the heavy-duty segment, Kenworth held the largest market share with 210 sales out of 1,060 total units, followed by Volvo and Isuzu.

The medium-duty market saw 404 sales, with Isuzu capturing over half the market with 241 units. The light-duty segment also saw a decrease, totaling 849 sales for the month.

In the bus and coach sector, August saw 148 deliveries. Volvo led the chassis sector with 36 deliveries, followed by Scania and Yutong. In the body sector, Volgren maintained a dominant position with 57 deliveries.
