Australian universities launch arts partnerships with SA theatre and Indian music academy

Adelaide University has entered a three‑year partnership with the State Theatre Company South Australia (STCSA). The collaboration will give creative arts, music and performing arts students hands‑on experience through workshops, internships, access to props and costumes, and involvement in a commissioned theatre work slated for 2028. It also links the university’s College of Health with STCSA’s simulated‑patient program, upskilling actors who train health‑professionals.

The University of Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music received a AUD 180,000 Maitri Grant to create a music‑education partnership with the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SaPa). Funded under the Australian Government’s Maitri Grants Programme, the project will introduce Indian music into the Conservatorium’s curriculum and foster collaborations between Australian and Indian artists and students.

Both initiatives are part of broader Australian government efforts to strengthen cultural, educational and research ties with regional and international partners.
