Australian Venue Co acquires Sydney pubs in $90 million deal

Australian Venue Co has acquired two prominent Sydney pubs, The Clock in Surry Hills and The Bank in Newtown, in a deal valued at over $90 million. The acquisition was made from Amalgamated Holdings as part of a broader sell-off of its hotel portfolio.

The Clock, established in 1863, and The Bank, established in 1880, have long been operated by Solotel under management agreements. While Amalgamated Holdings sold the freehold rights, the transaction involves partnership with Charter Hall. This move expands Australian Venue Co’s footprint, which includes 255 venues across Australia and New Zealand.
