Australia's Ellen Fife readies for second Commonwealth Games lawn bowls bid

Ellen Fife, a 29‑year‑old Australian lawn bowler and double gold medallist from the 2022 Commonwealth Games, is preparing for the sport's return at the 2026 Games in Glasgow. She will compete in the women's singles, aiming to add to her earlier titles while marking her 200th appearance for the national team.

Fife balances elite sport with work as an emergency‑response officer and retained firefighter, and is a mother of a nine‑month‑old son. The Glasgow Games feature a revised bowls format – seven‑end sets, a tie‑breaker and a shot‑clock – after Brisbane withdrew as host, leaving only ten sports in the programme.
