Austria and Germany launch major water infrastructure upgrades

The wastewater treatment plant of the Welser Heide water association in Marchtrenk, Austria, is undergoing a comprehensive general renovation. The work, likened by plant director Wolfgang Nöstlinger to an "open‑heart operation," will modernise the plant, add a photovoltaic system, improved insulation on fault towers and new turbo‑compressors, and expand capacity to serve up to 250,000 residents. The plant must remain fully operational throughout the upgrade and is slated to reach the latest technical standards by 2030.

In Schirmitz, Germany, the Steinreich Group has commissioned a new pump station equipped with three high‑performance pumps. The facility is intended to strengthen local water supply reliability and increase overall distribution capacity. Both projects represent significant regional investments in water infrastructure and aim to secure long‑term service quality for their respective communities.
