Austria expands energy infrastructure financing thresholds
The Austrian Ministry of Finance and the Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB) are expanding financing measures for energy infrastructure. While previous programs focused on large-scale investments exceeding 100 million euros, the new measures extend support to smaller distribution networks and storage solutions with investment volumes starting from 2 million euros.
The combined programs provide a total volume of 2 billion euros in guarantees and financing. These instruments aim to reduce expansion costs for transmission and distribution grids, as well as production and storage capacities, to facilitate the transition away from fossil fuels and reduce electricity costs.
