Alps experience early autumn snowfall at Dachstein and Kitzsteinhorn
Early autumn snowfall has been recorded in the Austrian Alps, specifically at the Dachstein Glacier and Kitzsteinhorn. Measuring stations reported up to eight centimeters of new snow at these high-altitude locations, which sit at 2,995 and 3,203 meters respectively.
Ski resort operators expressed readiness for the upcoming season. At Kitzsteinhorn, preparations are underway for a planned opening on October 10, contingent upon sufficient snow conditions. While the mountain peaks saw snow, lower valleys in Austria experienced rain and fog instead.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, weather patterns are expected to be variable. Following a rainy start to the week, brief stabilization is anticipated before further cloud cover and precipitation arrive. Temperatures in Sarajevo are expected to reach daily highs of approximately 23 degrees Celsius.
