Austria highway vignette prices and digital transition for 2026

Austria is implementing changes to its highway toll system (vignette) for 2026. Prices for the vignettes will increase by 2.9 percent, a change linked to the Austrian consumer price index.

New pricing for 2026 includes: - Daily vignette: 9.60 Euro - 10-day vignette: 12.80 Euro - 2-month vignette: 32.00 Euro - Annual vignette: 106.80 Euro

Notably, 2026 will be the final year that physical adhesive stickers are available. The daily vignette will transition to a digital-only format, meaning it can no longer be purchased as a sticker at gas stations.

The annual vignette remains valid for a 14-month period, covering from December 1 of the purchase year through January 31 of the following year. For those purchasing digital annual vignettes through the official ASFINAG online shop or app, private customers must observe an 18-day waiting period before the vignette becomes valid due to European consumer withdrawal rights. This waiting period does not apply to purchases made at physical sales points, ASFINAG vending machines, or authorized online partners.
