Austria holds KEBÖ conference to discuss lifelong learning strategy
More than 160 representatives from adult education, politics, science, and civil society gathered at the annual conference of the Conference of Adult Education Austria (KEBÖ) in Graz. The meeting focused on the future of lifelong learning and preparations for a new Austrian strategy for lifelong learning, a process scheduled to begin in October.
KEBÖ Chairman John Evers called for increased investment in basic education and democracy education, emphasizing the need to secure non-profit adult education. Former President Heinz Fischer also spoke, advocating for education as a foundation for social participation. Federal Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner discussed the importance of broad access to educational opportunities, regardless of gender, origin, location, or age.
