Two Syrian men arrested after knife robbery in Vienna's Favoriten district
On Thursday around 3:45 a.m. in the Mundygasse area of Vienna’s 10th district (Favoriten), a 30‑year‑old man was assaulted and robbed by two attackers. The perpetrators punched the victim and inflicted injuries with a kitchen knife before stealing his mobile phone. Passers‑by heard the victim’s cries for help and alerted emergency services. Police from the Favoriten City Police Command quickly located the suspects on Quellenstraße and made provisional arrests. The two men, aged 22 and 29, were identified as Syrian nationals and charged with aggravated robbery. A kitchen knife was recovered as the suspected weapon, and the victim received first‑aid treatment before being taken to hospital for facial and abdominal injuries.
