Austria selects COSMÓ to represent the host nation at Eurovision 2026

Benjamin Gedeon, known on stage as COSMÓ, was born on 18 June 2006 in Budapest and grew up in Austria’s Burgenland before moving to Vienna. He began music lessons at four, later studying piano, guitar and classical singing, and reached the final of The Voice Kids Germany in 2022.

Since 2025 he has worked with producer Markus Perner and leads the live‑performance group The Thumbs. On 15 December 2025 he was announced as a participant in Austria’s national selection “Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich?” with his song “Tanzschein”. On 20 February 2026 he won the competition, placing second with the jury but first with the public, securing his role as Austria’s Eurovision 2026 entrant. As the host country’s representative, he is automatically qualified for the Eurovision final scheduled for 16 May 2026 in Vienna.
