Austria to transition to exclusively digital motorway vignettes

Austria is transitioning to a fully digital motorway vignette system. Traditional physical stickers for windshields will only be available for purchase until the end of November. Starting December 1, toll payments will be exclusively digital.

Existing physical vignettes remain valid until January 31, 2027. Drivers are cautioned to ensure absolute accuracy when entering license plate numbers during digital purchases, as a single character error can result in a 200 euro fine.

Additionally, prices for various vignette types are expected to increase by an average of 2.9 percent. The one-day digital vignette will cost 9.60 euros, the ten-day version 12.80 euros, the two-month version 32 euros, and the annual vignette 106.80 euros.
