Austria wins gold and bronze at U20 Beach Volleyball European Championship

Austria achieved significant success at the CEV U20 Beach Volleyball European Championship in Lido di Spina, securing both gold and bronze medals.

Lia Berger and Lilli Hohenauer claimed the European title after defeating the Czech pair Knoblochova/Petrikova with a 2:0 score (21:18, 21:11) in the final. This victory follows their previous success as U18 European champions.

In the men's competition, Alexander Sponer and Paul Hohenauer earned the bronze medal. After a semifinal loss to the Norwegian pair Kjemperud/Ringøen, they defeated the Bulgarian team Antov/Zgurov 2:0 (21:17, 21:19) in the bronze medal match.

As a result of these performances, both Austrian teams have secured fixed spots in the main field for the upcoming U21 World Championship.
