Austria women's volleyball team enters European Championship in Brno

The Austrian women's national volleyball team has arrived in Brno to compete in the European Championship, marking their first appearance in the tournament's final round in 55 years. The team secured their spot as the final qualifying ticket last year.

Competing in Group B, Austria faces a challenging schedule. Their opening match is against tournament favorites Serbia, followed by a game against hosts the Czech Republic. Later in the week, they are scheduled to play Ukraine, Greece, and Bulgaria.

Austrian Volleyball Association President Gernot Leitner described the participation as a milestone for the players. While the team enters the tournament as underdogs, officials noted that the event serves as a vital platform for players to gain international visibility and attract professional scouts.
