Austrian Airlines finds passenger on board; Ryanair window break injures traveler

Austrian Airlines staff discovered an unauthorized man in his 50s sleeping in the front row of an Embraer E195 operating OS654 from Košice to Vienna. The passenger had entered the terminal after hours, crossed security fences and boarded the aircraft. The flight was delayed more than two hours while the plane underwent a full security inspection, including a bomb‑search dog. Police later detained the man, who lacked identification and is believed to be under psychiatric care.

Separately, a Serbian traveller, Ljubisa Karovic, was partially sucked out of a Ryanair Boeing 737 after an engine fragment broke a cabin window at about 6,000 m. His wife and other passengers pulled him back into the aircraft, where he sustained severe burns and bruises. Ryanair offered a re‑booking but no compensation, prompting the passenger to file a lawsuit seeking damages for injuries and alleged crew misconduct.
