Austrian athletes prepare for international judo and Nordic Combined events

Athletes in Austria are preparing for major international competitions across different disciplines. In judo, Salzburg-based athletes Michaela Höllwart and Felix Scheiber have completed their final training in Croatia ahead of the U18 World Championships in Ecuador. Additionally, Maria Höllwart and Michael Niederdorfer have finished preparations in the Netherlands for the European Championships in England.

In Nordic Combined, the Summer Grand Prix is commencing in Bischofshofen. This season marks a change as the series will only be held on large hills. The event follows the announcement by the International Olympic Committee that Nordic Combined will not be included in the 2030 Winter Olympics program, a decision that athletes like Paul Walcher note has increased the importance of the World Championships.
