ATX Prime swings sharply as Austrian stocks respond to earnings and ECB rate hike

The Austrian ATX index rose 1.74% to 6,072.67 points, led by strong earnings from catering group Do&Co, which posted a 7.8% gain after reporting revenue and profit growth for FY 2025/26. Other contributors included Erste Group and Raiffeisen Bank International, while AT&S added about 4.5% after final results. The move came despite expectations of an ECB rate hike and heightened tensions in the Middle East, which the bank said did not directly affect market prices.

In parallel, the ATX Prime sub‑index surged 1.47% to 3,040.34 points in Friday trading, reaching a daily high of 3,044.16 points. Top performers were DO&Co, Wienerberger, CA Immobilien, Strabag and Raiffeisen, while the lowest‑priced stocks included Marinomed Biotech, Kapsch TrafficCom and OMV. The index has risen about 14.38% year‑to‑date, with a 2026 yearly high of 3,047.50 points.

A few days later the ATX Prime fell 0.64% to 2,947.47 points, dropping after an early loss at the open. The index’s low for the session was 2,928.56 points. Gainers in this session were Lenzing, Porr, CA Immobilien, Vienna Insurance and DO&Co, while losers included Wolford, Wienerberger and Kapsch TrafficCom. Despite the pull‑back the ATX Prime remains up roughly 10.9% since the start of 2026.
