Austrian boy hospitalized in Rijeka after viper bite in Istria
A four-year-old boy from Austria is receiving intensive care at KBC Rijeka after being bitten by a venomous viper in a camp in Istria, Croatia. The incident occurred on Friday while the child was playing in nature and reportedly overturned a small stone.
Medical staff at the KBC Rijeka Pediatric Clinic confirmed that the child received symptomatic therapy and antiviperine serum. According to hospital officials, the boy has shown a satisfactory clinical response and is currently clinically and laboratory stable. He remains under intensive medical supervision and monitoring.
