Emergency responses in Germany: Restaurant fire and station alarm

A restaurant fire in Petersberg, Germany, resulted in twelve people, including guests and staff, being treated for suspected smoke inhalation. The fire originated in a chimney at the Istanbul-Grillhaus on Alte Ziegelei street. Emergency responders from Petersberg and Fulda prevented the flames from spreading to other parts of the building. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In a separate incident at the Cologne Main Station, a large-scale deployment of 58 firefighters was triggered by a fire alarm in the C-Passage dining area. Investigations revealed no actual fire; the alarm was caused by improperly installed exhaust filters at a burger restaurant, which directed kitchen fumes into the underground passages and triggered the suppression system. Train services were not affected by this event.
