Austrian Football Association submits bid for UEFA U21 EURO 2029

The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) has officially submitted its bid to UEFA to host the 2029 UEFA U21 European Championship. The final application concept includes a plan to utilize eight different stadiums across the country to ensure regional presence and atmospheric venues.

The proposed venues are the Franz-Horr-Stadion, Weststadion, Stadion St. Pölten, Donauparkstadion, Oberösterreich Arena, Innviertel Arena, Tivoli Stadion Tirol, and Stadion Schnabelholz.

Austria faces competition from Spain for the hosting rights. The UEFA Executive Committee is scheduled to make the final decision on December 7. Josef Pröll, Chairman of the ÖFB Supervisory Board, stated that hosting the tournament represents a significant opportunity to bring top-tier international football to the country and provide sustainable impulses for the sport.
