Austrian municipalities expand electric mobility services

The town of Ybbs is introducing a new electric mobility service called EmilY, which is scheduled to launch in January 2027. The service, described as a sustainable and socially accessible community taxi, aims to complement existing transport options by providing affordable trips within a 15-kilometer radius and to nearby hospitals. The project relies on a newly founded association and volunteer drivers to support residents with limited mobility.

In Schwaz, the city has expanded its electric car-sharing fleet with the addition of two new electric vehicles. Operated by Stadtwerke Schwaz on behalf of the municipality, the vehicles are available for hourly rental via the floMOBIL platform. The service is intended to provide a cost-effective alternative to private car ownership while reducing the number of additional vehicles in the urban area. The new cars are stationed at the St. Barbara parish parking lot and the city garage.
