Austrian President Van der Bellen Relocates Offices for Hofburg Renovation

Starting next year, extensive pipe and conduit repairs will be carried out in the Leopoldinischer Trakt of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. The work includes the historic Maria‑Theresienzimmer and the presidential offices of Alexander Van der Bellen. During the renovations the president will temporarily move to other rooms within the presidential chancellery, but the Presidency assures that his full working capacity will be maintained. Preparatory work has already begun, with the majority of the construction slated for the following year. The costs for the structural repairs are covered by the Burghauptmannschaft, while the presidency will bear expenses for any necessary adaptations. The heritage‑protected rooms will continue to be monitored and maintained throughout the project.
