Austrian school team shines at Dornbirn aquathlon as German athletes excel in track meet

On 2 June 2026, thirty pupils from Gymnasium Feldkirch took part in the 23rd Dornbirn Schulaquathlon, competing against roughly 500 participants from across Vorarlberg. The school secured second‑place finishes in both the male and female Category C team races, won the mixed‑team qualification for the upcoming federal aquathlon finals, and earned individual podium spots, including Theo Veijalainen’s first place in Category C.

In parallel, German athletes posted strong results at a series of meetings in Austria. Stefan Volzer ran 13.95 seconds in the 110‑metre hurdles to place fifth, while Kathrin Walter threw 51.72 metres in the javelin, also finishing fifth before withdrawing due to back problems. The U18 4 × 100 m relay team of Lorene Rischar, Pauline Sprengler, Nike von Enckevort and Lene Pfeiffer ran 47.74 seconds, comfortably breaking the U18, U20 and U23 DM standards and moving to third on the German U18 all‑time list.
