Austrian Space Forum tests Mars analog mission equipment

The Austrian Space Forum (ÖWF), in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and other research partners, conducted tests for the AMADEE-27 Mars analog mission at the Gebrüder Weiss site in Wels. The testing, which took place on October 30 and 31, focused on scientific experiments and technical systems intended for the mission scheduled for April 2027 in Portugal.

Gebrüder Weiss is serving as the official logistics partner for the project. The company is responsible for the transport of sensitive research equipment to and from the Monsaraz Analog Research Station in Portugal. During the testing phase, researchers demonstrated various technologies, including a rover developed by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria designed to assist crew members with navigation and the transport of scientific samples.
