Austrian tennis players win opening matches at Tulln Challenger
Three Austrian professional tennis players secured straight-set victories in their opening matches at the NÖ Open Challenger tournament in Tulln. Lukas Neumayer, the fifth seed and 2024 finalist, defeated Russian qualifier Swjatoslaw Gulin 6-4, 6-2. Neumayer, currently ranked 191st, is aiming for a top-100 position and views the tournament as preparation for upcoming Davis Cup duties.
Filip Misolic, playing on a wildcard, earned his first victory since January by defeating seventh seed Henri Squire 6-4, 6-0. Nico Hipfl, also receiving a wildcard, defeated Hynek Barton 6-3, 6-3, marking his first career win in a Challenger main draw.
