Austrian tourism organizations announce leadership transitions

Several Austrian tourism organizations are undergoing leadership transitions.

The Salzburger Land Tourismusgesellschaft (SLT) has received more than 50 applications for the position of managing director following the announcement that Leo Bauernberger will step down. Of the applicants, 20 are from Salzburg, and over two-thirds are men. The selection process will involve a formal review of documents followed by a hearing before an expert commission.

In Tyrol, Klaus Gleirscher has been appointed as the new managing director of the TVB Stubai Tirol, effective September 1, 2026. Gleirscher, who has served as the organization’s marketing manager since 2020, was selected through an external recruitment process that drew over 45 applicants from German-speaking regions. He succeeds Roland Volderauer, who led the tourism association for 14 years.
