Austrian towns stage free World Cup viewings and a Ried test match
In North Burgenland, multiple municipalities have organized free public viewings of Austria's matches in the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup. Venues include the Bärenstadion in Winden am See, the Mauerwerk in Eisenstadt, the beach area in Neusiedl am See, and the lakeside stage in Mörbisch. The opening game (Mexico vs South Africa) on 11 June and later fixtures featuring Austria – Jordan (17 June), Argentina (22 June), and Algeria (28 June) – will be shown with food offerings such as breakfast, grill evenings and chili con carne, and free drinks for fans wearing the national jersey.
Separately, SV Oberbank Ried will host a test match against Austria Salzburg on 26 June in Weibern. The match starts at 16:00 and is accompanied by a food‑truck and live broadcasts of the World Cup games. Standing tickets cost €12, seated tickets €20, and children under 15 enter free on standing areas. Tickets are available from the municipal office and designated contacts.
