Austrian woman sentenced to over seven years for fake inheritance fraud

A 52‑year‑old woman from Krems, Austria, was convicted of organized fraud after she pretended to receive an inheritance and obtained €100,349 from friends and acquaintances.

The Landesgericht Krems sentenced her to seven years and one month in prison, revoking previously suspended sentences. The court rejected her claim that an alleged uncle had left her the money, noting she used the funds for a horse, a car and living expenses and never repaid the loans. She had prior convictions but continued her lifestyle without seeking employment.
