Austrian youth football season begins with increased participation
The youth football season in Austria is commencing, marked by growth in participation and new organizational structures. The AFBÖ reports that 39 teams will compete across four age categories this year, an increase of eight teams compared to the previous season.
Defending champions include the Red Tigers (U12), Rangers Mödling (U14 11-man), Ebenfurth Mustangs (U14 9-man), AFC Vienna Vikings (U16 9-man 1), Red Tigers (U16 9-man 2), and Swarco Raiders Tirol (U18 11-man).
In Steyr, SK BMD Vorwärts Steyr is launching its season with teams ranging from U7 to U18. The club has expanded its youth department through collaborations with ATSV Steyr and ASV Bewegung, forming playing communities for the U13, U15, U17, and U18 age groups to enhance training opportunities.
