Austria's Linz and Villach host summer street art festivals

Linz will stage the 38th Linzer Pflasterspektakel from 23 to 25 July, turning the city centre into a free, three‑day street‑art arena. More than 100 companies and solo performers will present clowns, fire shows, acrobats, samba groups and a dedicated children’s programme at two venues, with additional attractions such as a portrait‑painting garden and rest areas in historic churches.

In Villach, the new "Circus City" event arrives on 17 July, offering three separate stages at Rathausplatz, Hauptplatz and Kirchenplatz. The programme includes classic circus acts, modern acrobatics, music, dance, magic and a sword‑swallowing freak show, with performances running from early evening into the night.

Both festivals are free to the public and aim to bring a variety of international street‑performance acts to Austrian city centres this summer.
