Autazes Mayor accused of harassment following video of singer Manu Bahtidão

A video recorded during the XXVI Festa do Leite in Autazes, Amazonas, has sparked controversy on social media involving singer Manu Bahtidão and Mayor José Thomé Neto. The footage shows the mayor grabbing the singer from behind while she appears to attempt to pull away from the embrace.

The incident, which occurred during the event at the Jair de Menezes Tupinambá Exhibition Park, led many internet users to label the interaction as embarrassing and to accuse the mayor of harassment. The mayor's wife, Renata Pinheiro, was reportedly nearby during the encounter.

Despite the online backlash, Manu Bahtidão stated via Instagram stories while at the Manaus airport that she was treated “with much respect” and praised the reception she received in Autazes. As of now, there have been no public reports of a formal legal complaint filed by the singer regarding the incident.
