Authenticity and Modernity Party outlines Morocco social support reforms

Leaders of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) have outlined a new political vision for Morocco focused on prioritizing national interests and direct social support over political gains.

Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, stated in Bouarfa that the party’s priorities through 2031 include protecting purchasing power, supporting farmers and livestock breeders against drought, and improving conditions for retirees and widows. He emphasized the need to reform agricultural support mechanisms to ensure subsidies and fodder reach farmers directly, reducing the influence of intermediaries.

Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, a member of the party's collective leadership, proposed revising social support indicators, which could potentially extend benefits to an additional two million Moroccans. He advocated for a shift in methodology from subsidizing companies to providing direct support to citizens. Bensaid noted that while companies focus on profit, the party’s goal is to ensure a dignified life for citizens through improved health, education, and economic stability.
