Author Carmine Abate to present new novel in Caloveto

Author Carmine Abate will present his new novel, “I giorni dell’arrivederci,” published by Mondadori, at the municipal library in Piazza dei Caduti, Caloveto. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, at 18:30.

The novel explores themes of emigration, memory, and identity, following the story of Giorgio, the son of Calabrian emigrants who experiences displacement from his homeland to Germany and later to an educational institute in Trentino.

The presentation will include institutional greetings from Mayor Umberto Mazza and Giovanni Aiello, the school director of the Istituto Comprensivo B. Bennardo of Cropalati. The event will be introduced by library manager Fabrizio Grillo, with a dialogue featuring Mena Forciniti and musical interludes. The initiative aims to utilize the new municipal library, supported by the Calabria Region, as a cultural hub to connect Calabrian identity with contemporary themes.
