Author Juan Trejo discusses new novel and literary philosophy
Author Juan Trejo appeared on the ‘Libros y Cosas’ video podcast to discuss his literary career and recent works. He highlighted his latest novel, ‘Nela 1979’, a personal project reconstructing the life of his sister, who passed away from AIDS at age 21.
Trejo also discussed the upcoming reissue of his 2008 novel, ‘El fin de la Guerra Fría’, which will return to bookstores on November 11 through the publisher Tusquetsha. Reflecting on his twelve years as a teacher, Trejo expressed his belief that storytelling is inherently political, stating that “telling stories will always be political” because it involves how individuals relate to one another and their worldview.
