Authorities conduct anti-poaching operations in Campania, Italy
Law enforcement and environmental groups have conducted several anti-poaching operations across the Campania region, specifically in the areas of Caserta, Naples, and Marano.
In Caserta, the Provincial Police, in collaboration with WWF hunting guards, identified seven individuals engaged in illegal hunting activities. The operation resulted in the seizure of three illegal electromagnetic acoustic callers, along with supporting equipment such as batteries and recordings of bird calls. The individuals were reported to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere for violating national wildlife protection laws.
In the Naples and Marano areas, WWF hunting guards and Carabinieri Forestali identified further criminal offenses. These included a hunter using prohibited electromagnetic acoustic devices and another individual hunting with a shotgun without a license or firearm permit. The owner of the unlicensed weapon was also reported for failure to properly secure the firearm.
