Mexico authorities identify man killed in Orizaba shootout
Authorities in Orizaba, Veracruz, have officially identified Said Enrique “N”, a 29-year-old man who was killed during an armed confrontation on October 13. The individual had remained unidentified at the Forensic Medical Service for 22 days.
The incident occurred during a ministerial operation in the El Espinal neighborhood, which resulted in a shootout between law enforcement and individuals inside a property. The confrontation left two people dead, including the identified man and a ministerial agent, and led to the detention of four individuals.
Family members provided the necessary documentation to the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the XV Judicial District to complete the identification process and claim the remains for funeral services. Investigations continue to clarify the specific circumstances and responsibilities surrounding the exchange of gunfire.
