Authorities in Argentina seize illegal fish shipment and stolen vehicle
In Entre Ríos, the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (SENASA) seized approximately 400 kilograms of river fish during a routine inspection at the Cerrito control post on National Route 14. The shipment, traveling from Concordia toward Corrientes, included species such as dorado, sábalo, bagre, boga, moncholo, and patí.
Inspectors determined the cargo lacked the mandatory transit permits and was being transported without a necessary cold chain, posing potential health risks. The vehicle also lacked proper SENASA authorization. The Rural Crime Prevention Brigade of the Entre Ríos Police has intervened following the seizure, which violates the Argentine Food Code.
In a separate incident in Loreto, authorities intercepted a black Toyota Hilux on National Route 9. Upon verification, police discovered the vehicle had an active judicial seizure order related to a theft in the province of San Juan. The two occupants, traveling from Tucumán toward Córdoba, were detained, and the vehicle was seized by local law enforcement.
