Yucatán security operations lead to multiple arrests and humanitarian rescue
Security forces in Yucatán conducted a series of operations at the Teya underpass on the Mérida-Cancún highway, resulting in several significant outcomes. During a coordinated inspection involving the Mexican Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, and state police, authorities arrested a man wanted in Jalisco for extortion and gang robbery.
In a separate action, immigration officials conducted a humanitarian rescue of a foreign national who lacked legal documentation to remain in the country. This individual was transferred to the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Mérida for administrative processing. Additionally, police detained an individual found in possession of a substance with characteristics similar to marijuana.
These operations were carried out through inter-agency cooperation between federal and state authorities to strengthen the rule of law and ensure public safety in the region.
