Authorities in Mexico detain two individuals for alleged drug possession

Police in different regions of Mexico have detained a man and a woman following the discovery of suspected illegal substances.

In Chicoloapan, municipal and state security forces intercepted a woman in the Francisco Villa neighborhood, where they reportedly found five Ziploc bags containing a crystalline solid substance. A man was also detained in the Presidentes neighborhood after officers observed him allegedly carrying bags of a whitish solid substance. Both individuals and the seized items were transferred to the Public Ministry for legal proceedings.

In Zongolica, municipal police arrested Mayra Bibiana García Guevara, an employee of the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Zongolica, and Luis Oswaldo Pérez Marcos in the community of Chicomapa. The arrest occurred after officers stopped their vehicle for driving recklessly and against the flow of traffic. During the intervention, police reportedly found bags of a substance resembling crystal and .380 caliber ammunition. The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Zongolica Prosecutor's Office.
