Authorities in Mexico report missing person recovery and extortion arrest
In Sonora, the General Prosecutor's Office (FGJES) confirmed that 47-year-old Ladys Lada “N” has been located safely. After being reported missing, investigators established contact with her son, who confirmed she had returned home to Huatabampo on October 25. The woman explained she had traveled to Nogales for a party and lost her cell phone, which prevented communication with her family. Authorities verified she was uninjured and in good health.
In Nuevo León, authorities arrested 51-year-old Juana Melina “N” in Pesquería for allegedly extorting the families of missing persons. The suspect was wanted under an arrest warrant for demanding money in exchange for false information regarding the whereabouts of three men who disappeared in November 2022. Investigations into bank deposits and messages led detectives to her identification and subsequent capture.
