Authorities investigate child neglect in Cassilândia

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Mato Grosso do Sul is investigating allegations of family negligence involving three children, aged 11, 9, and 2, in Cassilândia. The investigation follows reports from the Guardianship Council regarding poor hygiene conditions, accumulated filth, and recurring hunger within the residence.

School reports indicated that one child frequently arrived at school hungry and without proper hygiene. While a family member has expressed interest in assuming care of the children, and the primary caregiver claims to have addressed the food and cleanliness issues, a prosecutor has ordered multiple agencies—including Social Assistance, the Guardianship Council, and Sanitary Surveillance—to conduct formal evaluations. These agencies have 20 days to report on the family's social and housing conditions to determine if protective measures are necessary.
