Authorities investigate corruption in Colombian royalty funds and Mexican political party

In Colombia, the Fiscalía General de la Nación has arrested 13 individuals as part of an investigation into a corruption scheme involving public contracts. The suspected scheme involves funds from the General Royalty System exceeding 3 trillion pesos. Those detained include governors, former public officials, contractors, and executives from the Fondo Mixto Sierra Nevada. Authorities conducted raids in several cities, including Villavicencio, to investigate irregularities in the awarding and management of development projects.

In Mexico, United States authorities are investigating leaders of the Partido Verde, a member of the ruling coalition. The investigation focuses on allegations of influence peddling, illicit enrichment, and criminal association involving party leaders and propaganda consultants. While specific names have not been released in the information shared with the Mexican government, the probe targets the party's leadership structure and its operations in regions such as Chiapas, Quintana Roo, and San Luis Potosí.
