Authorities investigate homicide in Simití, Bolívar

Authorities in Bolívar, Colombia, are investigating the homicide of 35-year-old Manuel Duván Hernández Tovar. His body was discovered on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 21, under a bridge in the rural area of Los Aceitunos, within the jurisdiction of San Luis in the municipality of Simití.

Local residents found the victim, who was originally from Barrancabermeja, and alerted the police. Upon arrival, forensic units confirmed that Hernández Tovar had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The body was transported to the local hospital morgue in Simití for a necropsy by legal medicine officials to assist in the investigation.

Hernández Tovar, a father of twin girls, had been working in the southern Bolívar region for some time. While criminal investigation units have processed the scene to collect evidence, authorities have not yet released official hypotheses regarding the motive or identified any suspects.
