Villa de María del Río Seco: Baby's body found in plaza

Authorities in Villa de María del Río Seco, Córdoba, are investigating the discovery of a baby's body inside a waste bag in a local plaza. The remains, which were found on a Tuesday, showed signs of mutilation and were not complete.

Prosecutor Analía Cepede stated that the infant appeared to be several weeks old rather than a fetus. Investigators are examining whether local animals caused the mutilations or if the injuries were intentional, noting that a rope was found around the baby's neck.

To identify the child, the prosecution is reviewing medical records of women who gave birth in the region during the estimated timeframe. The autopsy will be conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institute in Córdoba to determine the exact cause of death.
