Authorities investigate missing teacher in Mexico and tourist robbery in Colombia

Authorities in Jalisco, Mexico, are investigating the disappearance of teacher Liliana Judith Colmenares, who went missing on September 4. The Vicefiscalía de Personas Desaparecidas reported that her vehicle was located a day after she vanished, but it showed no immediate signs of violence and contained some of her belongings. While several lines of investigation are open, officials stated there is currently no clarity regarding her whereabouts. Search efforts have been extended to municipalities including Puerto Vallarta.

In Santa Marta, Colombia, the Metropolitan Police have formed a special group to investigate claims made by a tourist from Bogotá regarding a ‘millionaire stroll’ robbery. The victim, identified as Beto Saza, alleged that after requesting a vehicle via the inDrive platform, he was taken to a wooded area, robbed of his belongings, and forced to provide his iCloud credentials. He reported that criminals accessed his bank accounts, transferring over two million pesos. Although the victim claimed to have reported the incident, police stated there are currently no formal records of a complaint filed with the Fiscalía or local police stations.
