Authorities investigate multiple animal cruelty incidents in Spain and Colombia

Authorities in Táliga, Spain, are investigating five residents suspected of killing at least 12 cats using an unregistered air rifle. The investigation was triggered by the discovery of numerous dead felines and a report of a pellet narrowly missing a resident's face. Law enforcement recovered an unregistered air rifle and ammunition from a vehicle linked to the suspects, who are now being investigated for alleged animal abuse.

In Sahagún, Colombia, officials are investigating the mass poisoning of pets in the Simón Bolívar neighborhood. Four dogs and one cat died after consuming food laced with toxic chemicals left in residential areas. Local animal welfare organizations and the Environmental Police are conducting toxicological tests on the bait. Community members have expressed concern regarding the public health risks posed by these substances and are calling for judicial action under national animal cruelty laws.
