San Luis: Three-year-old girl found safe after disappearance
Nancy Aitana Isabela Ybarra, a three-year-old girl, was found safe and healthy in San Luis, Argentina, following an intensive search operation. She had been reported missing on Tuesday afternoon after disappearing from her home near the Parque Industrial Norte.
The disappearance triggered the activation of ‘Alerta Sofía’, a national emergency protocol for missing children. Authorities deployed a massive operation involving approximately 400 people, including police officers, firefighters, specialized canine units, and drones. Security measures also included reinforced controls at provincial border crossings.
The child was located shortly after midnight on Wednesday, sleeping in an open area near an abandoned factory close to her residence. A canine unit, specifically a dog named Uma, played a critical role in tracking her scent. Following her discovery, the girl received medical evaluation by ambulance and was reunited with her family. Provincial officials, including Governor Claudio Poggi, praised the coordinated efforts between judicial and security agencies that led to the successful outcome.
