Authorities monitor Guarenas-Guatire following heavy rainfall
Emergency services and civil protection teams have been deployed across the Guarenas-Guatire axis following intense rainfall in the Plaza and Zamora municipalities. Authorities are maintaining a permanent presence in critical areas to mitigate risks and provide timely assistance.
In the Plaza municipality, Mayor Antonio Galíndez led inspections of the Guarenas River basin and vulnerable sectors, including Nueva Casarapa, Los Naranjos, Villa Panamericana, and the Petare-Guarenas national highway. While the river level in the La Vaquera sector decreased significantly by late Saturday night, officials remain on alert.
In the Zamora municipality, officials reported temporary flooding in sectors such as Las Barrancas, Palo Alto, and Buena Vista. Civil protection teams continue to monitor the situation to ensure community safety.
