Authorities recover bodies of missing persons in Argentina and Dominican Republic

Authorities in San Juan, Argentina, have recovered the body of a 75-year-old woman, identified by the surname Vicente, from the Céspedes canal. The woman had been reported missing by her family earlier on Thursday after leaving her home in La Bebida, Rivadavia.

Police and firefighters located the body floating near a power plant on Pellegrini Street. Investigators are currently reviewing security camera footage from the La Bebida area to reconstruct her final hours. Officials are working to determine whether the death was accidental or if she entered the canal voluntarily.

In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the body of 41-year-old Saúl Colón Minaya was found floating on the eastern bank of the Ozama River. Witnesses reported that the man may have jumped from the Duarte Bridge on Monday.

While family members had used social media to search for him, authorities noted that no formal disappearance report had been filed prior to the discovery. Police are continuing investigations to establish the exact circumstances of his death.
